Suite Dreams Inn by the Beach

Updating my review to share that the owners have called and threatened to sue me for $25,000 for sharing my review and experience. Absolutely avoid these people. We booked this hotel months in advance, and exactly one week before arrival the owner called asking us to change our dates. We couldn’t due to flights, work, and pet care already arranged. He then informed us he needed to cancel our final night due to “maintenance,” but refused to explain what the maintenance was or consider rescheduling it. They did book us another hotel for the final night, which was nice, but it was about $100 less per night than what we originally paid, the room was much smaller and didn’t have any of the amenities we had originally paid for-and we were not refunded the difference. At more than $500 per night I didn't expect to entertain additional guests like the sheep sized roaches in the Hemingway Suite kitchen, madly waving their whip like antennae about in alarm at light, and lots of tiny ants on your pillow and bed in the Sunset Suite. Imagine going to bed and suddenly having the horrifying realization that some tiny creatures are crawling on your scalp and in your hair. Try sleeping after that living nightmare. The claim of a 10 minute walk to the main attraction areas is fantasy, since no one can walk over a mile in ten minutes. There is a beach only 4 blocks away. It was the only positive I can think of. This was the WORST experience I've ever had in an Airbnb or hotel, or literally anywhere. READ TO THE END - 1st the host was the most inhospitable person I've ever met. The son & wife acted as if we were intruding on them. They did not even say hi, just walked around us weirdly & turned around when eye contact was made. We arrived & decided to take a nap from our long voyage, only to be woken up by SCREAMING coming from the other side of the wall which we were only to believe was the wife. This place is highly overrated. It’s a pity to leave a critical review, as the property has a lot of charm. Unfortunately, it is very old and poorly maintained. Broken chairs and other items are scattered around the backyard between the palm trees. Much of the equipment listed on the website is barely usable, having seen its best years long ago. Our “suite” had only two cups for four people, the coffee machine was missing, and there were no proper glasses—just a few very old, mismatched plastic cups. Upon arrival, we reported that the window blind was broken and asked for it to be replaced, but nothing happened. Please do yourself a favor and shop around Conch House or any where other than here.Traveled 1200 mile's went to introduce myself to the manager of property and he reply's yea yea I know who you are have a seat over there and i'll get you your paper work.Rude to say the least,young man should be doing other work instead of running a B and B.Pool was nasty ground's were not well kept,in need of some TLC, amazing what a little elbow grease and cleaning will do place really need's a lady's touch.Picture's were not what we saw on there website and the vibe's of Key West are not happening here.Dark and creepy around the Duvall room on the back of the property. We managed to find a nice property to fit our need's.9th thru 14.
