Suburban Studios Brunswick of I-95

Positive: Hotel employee was a wonderful host, she went above and beyond for me. She was very informative to what restaurants I should avoid and those that I should try as well. Negative: The room was visually clean but had an aggressive smoke smell. Tequila came in and offered to refresh the room and cut the smell. Again she was outstanding.

What a breath of fresh air!!!! Literally. From the minute we checked in we were treated like family but with resort style professionalism and amenities. The staff was beyond helpful and when our stay lasted beyond expectation, they did everything possible to accommodate. It’s not the typical extended stay. I never had any concern with the safety or activities engaged in on their property. Can’t say that for others in the immediate area. They had ample green space for our service dogs to get their vacation time too. It was beautiful and also clean enough for the dogs and kids to play outside. The new owners have really put in effort to beautify the grounds and remodel the rooms. No idea what it was like but it’s gorgeous today. This motel is under new management and it went from a 2 star property to a 4/5 star property in my opinion. Newly renovated rooms that are really nice! Flat top stove and the full size refrigerator. So much more convenient than a mini fridge that most motels have. We stayed a week and being able to cook along with a bigger fridge saved us so much money because we didn’t have to buy fast food. The weekly rate is one of the cheapest I’ve seen in that area and it’s quiet. I definitely recommend Suburban Suites.

I reserved a king size bed online and pre-paid for the room only to be told when I got to the property that I would be charged extra to stay in a room with a king size bed. I was given instead a room with two smaller beds upstairs. Immediately upon entering the room I was met with a strong weed smell, the bedding was heavily stained, the counter tops/toilet/tub/sink were all covered in someone else’s hair, the walls were so dirty and grimy, the floors had not been swept in awhile and there was a used dirty washcloth hanging from the shower rod. There is no way they cleaned that room. When I requested a different room, I was shown three other rooms that had supposedly been cleaned and unoccupied the night before. I stayed here for a few days while on a business trip. I was not entirely impressed at first, but it really grew on me! It was nice and quiet in spite of being right off the main highway. It’s nestled in a fantastic location to be able to visit anything your heart desires on your visit to Brunswick and the Golden Isle. Staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing to remember… make sure you have your keys on you when you go out the door. The front office closes around midnight so if you happen to accidentally let the door close as you walk out, you might be taking a nap in your car.
