Wow! What a far out, beautiful experience!! I wasn't prepared for the whole thing and I'm glad I just jumped in and went with it. Beautiful environment. Beautiful structures. Beautiful community of guests and staff. Delicious food. The shower and bath was a delightful adventure. Art room. Canoe. Geodesic dome music room. Witchy kitchen. My only negative would be that the restrooms were not disability accessible. There's a spiral staircase involved. That didn't impact me, but thinking of others. That aside, I highly recommend this place for a kind of Hippie Paradise and a spaceship to both the heart of the late 60s and the dream of the 90s! Do yourself a favor, stay more than 1 night, unplug and tune in.

If you want to carve your life down to the basics for a weekend, this is the place. For 50 years, Tom and his rotating group of caretakers have been providing a haven for adventurers. It's a retreat from day to day life. The staff turns over every few months so they really want to be there. It's not a hotel. It's not a campground. It's a quiet place to collaborate with others on group meal for dinner that's included. It's a place to stop and contemplate where you are, where you've been, and where you're going. The lake is just right for swimming this time of year. Bring bug spray because it is in the woods. Bring food since there may or may not be eggs available in the morning for you to cook for yourself depending on if the chickens are laying. There's a refrigerator for you to label and

Hostel in the Forest is like a summer camp for adults — and I mean that in the best possible way. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at peace. The entire place encourages slowing down, unplugging, and reconnecting with nature and creativity. There’s a beautiful lake with kayaks and swimming, an amazing glass house yoga studio, and a magical cabin that made my stay feel truly unique. The communal kitchen is well-equipped, and the arts and crafts building is packed with materials — I felt so inspired just being in that space. Each evening, a delicious vegan meal is prepared and shared with the community, which really adds to the welcoming and intentional vibe of the hostel. The Hostel is a place My daughter and I visit a few times a year. It is a great place to disconnect from society and just be around like minded people. The trees always provide shade and exploring the many trails leads to fun and discovery. Every part of the facility has history and story to it. Highly recommended for people traveling through or looking to get away.

A really special, magical place to feel immersed in nature. The library and glass house buildings are unforgettable. Loved the outdoor showers, art house, lake, and my treehouse room. The staff are lovely, special shout out to Ethan who was fascinating. Highly recommend to anyone that doesn't mind a bit of dirt.
