Studio 6 Vicksburg, MS - Downtown

We got stranded due to the snow and ice and got what seemed like the last room in Vicksburg. The room itself was nice and clean with a kitchenette. The guy at the desk was nice. The upper part of the parking garage ramp wasn't treated for ice and neither were the external walkways. Our room was 38° when we got there at 745p... at 7am the next day it had only gotten to 58°. Rooms were sold out and our neighbors were up all night arguing and fighting. At 430am we woke up to the sound of a gunshot which shook our bed. Front desk didn't seem concerned or interested. We found another hotel, Quality Inn, for tonight and she was not surprised to hear that was our experience at the Studio 6 downtown.

Central location. We were on the top floor with a nice view of historic Vicksburg and even sunset on the Mississippi. Nice church bells from the bell tower next door. Quiet at night. Helpful reception staff. Rooms are clean and have the new room designs. Almost full-size fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, silverware, and cutting board, but no ceramic plates, cups, or bowls. No coffee in the lobby but there is a coffee machine in the room. Free parking on two levels behind the building.

Modern, clean furniture in renovated rooms. Best equipped kitchennette we’ve seen so far in budget hotels with plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery, and even kitchen towels. Unfortunately, the outside premises weren’t clean at all and seemed to be heavily neglected. There were loads of cockroaches all around, even in our room, which made our stay feel uncomfortable. Elevator and the outside hallway were filthy and full of stains. Washing machines were available, but we wouldn’t dare to wash our clothes there. That was very sad, given the overall clean, modern and well equipped rooms.

I will rate my exp A-1. Our first room had an a /c that sounded like a locomotive was coming there. 2nd room had black|mold all over the bathroom tile and no shampoo or toothpaste. AND the elevator was out of order and these 2 65 yr olds had to carry all their luggage down three flights of stairs. Don't let me forget that you must have exact change for the soda machine! Terrible experience

The hotel was not very clean…Staff is good….I would not recommend this hotel ….
