Stonybrook Motel & Lodge

We made our reservation here because it was near the Franconia Notch State Park and planned to do some hiking and exploring in the area. (Which was crowded at the park, but still very worthwhile). ||The staff were friendly and tried to be accommodating, but we were very disappointed in this property in general. The room was small, walls were very thin so it was noisy, the TV channels didn't work, other guests were smoking pot outside our room and playing loud music. Breakfast was OK but for $200+ a night (we stayed 3 nights) it wasn't good. ||We got some reprieve by spending time at the picnic table behind the motel with the creek running by. THAT was the best part of the place, along with the Dutch Treat restaurant nearby.

The second we stepped foot on this motel’s property our experience went downhill. The manager gave us a key to our room and when we went to drop our stuff we found that the door was already unlocked. Fast forward after dropping all of our things off before going to dinner, my friend had left her car key in the room. Well, it just happened to be that the key we were given was not the correct room key and we were locked out for an hour. The “managers” (these people do NOT know how to run a hotel) expected us to leave the door unlocked for the remainder of our stay since there were no other keys or rooms available to us. Safe to say we all slept with one eye open that night, thinking aboit how fast we can get out of here the next morning. DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL REGRET YOUR CHOICES!!!

Positive: It had a game room in the Lodge where our room was located and we enjoyed several games of shooting pool. Negative: The room was not cleaned for our second night, beds were not remade, no fresh towels, had to ask for them when we returned after supper. No ice available at the Motel. Seemed like it was under new management.

Booked two nights, stayed one — terrible experience. We stayed at Stoney Brook Motel in Franconia, NH, and it was a complete disappointment. The room had bugs, the sink was leaking, and the A/C didn’t work properly. The staff and service were unhelpful and not at all family-friendly. We had booked for two nights but had to check out after one night because the conditions were so poor. Even the breakfast was terrible, with almost nothing worth eating. For the high price (comparable to a 2–3 star hotel), the experience was unacceptable. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for your reply. Pretty nice hotel, we stayed there for one night in August. After a few days in Best Western, which kept jacking the price every night, we decided to look for an alternative. Found this place and we were very pleased. Room was clean, has good heating and a/c and has windows on both sides for excellent ventilation. Price was very good. Parking is available right outside your room. Only downside I can think of is that they don't have a washing machine on site. Would definitely go back here next time I'm in NH.
