The current camp host is not very good. She doesn’t keep the outhouses clean. She kind of supplies the toilet paper. The women’s side ran out a couple times. The previous times we’ve been here the campground was maintained rather well. We paid online for a second vehicle then the host charged us again saying the online payment didn’t pay for the second vehicle. ?? We plan ongoing back next season and hope she isn’t there.

Review: Steel Creek Campground Steel Creek Campground offers a wonderfully secluded and rustic camping experience. The thick trees and underbrush create a sense of privacy, making it easy to forget you have neighbors. Most of the car-accessible tent sites are generously sized and feel quite roomy, with fairly level driveways that are great for car camping. The campground's facilities, however, feel a bit neglected. The bathrooms are old and dirty, with peeling paint and stained toilet seats. In some stalls, the space is so tight it's barely possible to sit down, let alone change clothes. A word of caution about the check-in and payment process: This is a first-come, first-serve campground, but be prepared for a potentially unusual interaction with the camp host. Great campground. Sites widely spaced and private, very quiet. Close to Government Camp and Trillium Lake. Canadian Jays come into camp and almost eat from your hand. We'll definitely be back.

This was our first camping experience on Mt Hood. The campground was very clean and the spots are spaced well, so you don't feel crowded. While this campground is situated in the forest, the proximity to the main road is convenient but you can hear road noise while at your site. There was also a large truck that came through the campsite very early, like before 6am, that was very loud. I think it might have been the truck to clean out the vault toilets. I would definitely camp here again.

Our campsite was extremely spacious and clean. The vault toilets were clean as well. We had decent mobile service (T-Mobile). It is close to highway so you can probably hear some vehicle noises from some campsites. There are few lodges close by as well. The creek behind our campsite was very small (probably 3ft wide).
