Be careful with Rattlesnakes! We encountered a medium size rattlesnake almost in our campsite. So be very, very cautious with young kids. Specially near the high grass areas, as this is where we found that rattle snake. Also, there is no water near the campsites, so bring your own. The bathrooms are porta potties and are also far from campsite. So at night, night careful where you step going to the bathroom.
Be AWARE RV generator allowed to run until 10PM with loud noise! The campsite itself is wonderful — beautifully situated right by Lake Berryessa. The restrooms are available and clean (I honestly don’t know why others complain about them), and the staff who manage the site are nice and responsive.we stayed at #16. The only major downside is the campground’s policy on generators for RV. They allow them to run until 10 p.m., which can be unbearable for families with little kids who go to bed earlier. Our children are 7 and 5, and the constant noise at night made it very difficult for them to sleep. When I asked our immediate neighbor number 15 if she could turn it off earlier, she said management had told her it was permitted until 10 p.m. I called management after hour number and was given
Was pretty windy during our stay. There are plenty of bathrooms however they're not the cleanest. Definitely usable though. Some people stay up late and make noise but it wasn't too loud thankfully. A lot of the sites have no shade so be prepared for that.
Do not book a site at this campground unless you want to be constantly hounded by the so called owner. As an avid camper with 1000+ trips never experienced anything like this. Unprofessional, extremely unwelcoming, over the top power trip. We've booked this site for numerous years and have never had an issue one time, were are a family group with young kids etc. There inability to allow people to pass through the gate which they lock with no access after hours is insane. We had a group fly in from out of state and were stranded outside because lack of staffing. We were beyond hassled using the wrong bbqs which were electric BTW as suggested by the staff. No electric golf carts allowed as well which would have been nice to know and stated on a booking slip prior. Really bad experience after
Launched my boat here recently and was underwhelmed by this facility. They charge $30 to launch which is pretty steep compared to most lakes in Northern CA. The boat ramp is large enough to handle 5 or 6 boats at a time and has 3 courtesy docks. All good. Unfortunately for fishermen who launch in the dark it is very poorly lit and the Porto pottys are pretty disgusting. You would think that with the high prices they charge for camping and boat launches they could at least have clean bathrooms. I would only launch or camp here as a last resort.
