Starlight Inn & Suites Motel 29 Palms Joshua Tree National Park

Don’t bother with this motel, or the one next door (Oasis Inn) that handled our check-in. Just book a name-brand hotel and save yourself the headache. Comparing this place to Motel 6 would be an egregious insult to Motel 6, and Motel 6 should probably file a complaint for being mentioned in the same sentence. When we arrived, Starlight Inn’s check-in desk was mysteriously closed, so Oasis Inn took over. The experience was impressively bad. The front desk insisted we had booked a one-person room, (got downgraded to one bed instead of two), despite our confirmed reservation clearly stating three guests. When presented with evidence, they shrugged and blamed the third-party booking site—because accountability is clearly optional here. Wi-Fi was down at check-in, the hair dryer didn’t work,

There were five cockroaches, four dead and one alive. There was one hand soap in the bathroom but no soap or shampoo in the shower. We were only two guest and only received two bath towels. The bath towels were paper thin. Horrible experience.

Stayed here to be close to family members camping at Indian Cove Campgrounds. Room was clean and bed was so comfortable! Enjoyed a hot shower after hiking in the desert! I would stay here again!

Rooms are HORRIBLE . not even 10mins of checking in Hotels SHOULD NOT HAVE ROACHES with the only solution was bringing roach spray to the room. A/C is not working…and I can’t get transferred to another room for those issues, wasn’t able to speak to a manager. The doors have open spaces at the bottom for bugs to come in, had to put a towel down to try to keep the bugs out, only have body towels when I asked for wash towels I was told no..And this is all within 8hrs of me being on the room since nobody works after 11pm and I checked in around 9:45 Will never stay here again. The morning shift was impolite. Got thrown over here after I thought I booked a room at the Oasis next store but apparently they own and manage this hotel as well and this is where they sent me. Once again, I was lead to believe I was booking at the oasis. I saw the starlight hotel and didn’t want to stay there so that’s why I booked the oasis. Anyway, the room was pretty clean but they don’t give you many amenities (no hand towel, very few cups, only enough towels for 1 per person). The A/C unit in our room made a super load scraping noise while running so we couldn’t even have it on at night. No pool here since you are deemed second class citizens to those who are staying in the oasis (same parking lot, same management, apparently same website). Seems like there are people living permanently in some of the rooms so tha
