Campbell House

The Campbell House Inn was such a wonderful surprise! Everything was perfect from the atmosphere, room cleanliness, quietness of the grounds, and location near Joshua Tree National Park! We were delighted to find this true oasis in the dessert! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and exceeded our expectations with real china and elegance you don't find often. We loved the hot tub as we star gazed each evening. And the resident owls were another treat! Thanks so much for keeping this facility as it is! We will definitely recommend and come back again!

Jan 2026 If you like to stay in places that are just a bit off the beaten path, Campbell house is the place for you. We stayed in Artifact room. It was awesome, super quiet and comfortable. The shower tub is big enough for 2 to shower. The breakfast was superb. They even warm up the coffee cups! The staff was very friendly and efficient. I would recommend putting small brooms in the outlying rooms to whisk the sand out. We were there after big rains and the sand stuck to out shoes, and we tracked some in. A staff member recommended we go up to the sister property, 29 Palms inn for dinner. When we got there without a reservation we were met with an attitude. We immediately left and dined elsewhere. A totally different feeling than the Campbell house.

We cannot say enough good things about the Campbell House Inn. We stayed in the Sunset Cottage, which was much more spacious than the pictures show. Everything was quite comfortable, and we had a bit of solitude but a quick walk to the main house for the delicious breakfast or the pool and hot tub for relaxing after exploring all day. The location couldn't be better--literally just down the road from Joshua Tree National Park. Easy access to the highway that connects all the fun desert towns, but set back enough from the highway that we could enjoy the peace and quiet and night skies. We also enjoyed the little sitting areas under the palms.

We have been coming here since 2016, everytime we want to disconnect, recover and reconnect...we come here. We have stayed at the Water Tower Cottage and now at the Artifact Room twice each and we love it. It's secluded, quiet, romantic. There's a certain beauty in the quietness of the desert that cannot compare with Forest or Sea. And the Campbell House has capture it and for that, we are grateful and happy to keep coming back whenever life gets to tough. ☆☆☆☆☆ 100% recommend.

Imagine an oasis in the desert with an old, New England-type inn right in the middle. When we arrived at Campbell House, I felt like I was entering a movie set. It looks so out of place with an oasis of palm trees along with this grand house with cabins all around it. Once settled in, we were so glad we had chosen to stay here. Our room (Oasis) was large with an ample kitchen with table and chairs. There is a sizable sitting area in that room, too, that we found quite comfortable. Front desk and dining room service was warm and informative. I was happy to return here each day after hiking and exploring Joshua Tree.||A couple of flaws: the breakfast leaves something to be desired. Yes, it’s a continental breakfast but each offering (except the delicious bacon) seemed to be missing something
