Starke / Gainesville N.E. KOA Holiday

Good place to get off the road for the night, but they have nothing for the kids to do. Pool has been closed as well as hot tub for weeks now! Park roads are also horrible. We ended up leaving a day early and drove to St Pete. Stayed at a cracker barrel parking lot which was actually more enjoyable than this park. I won't be staying here again.

After several years of using the Starke KOA as our go-to stopover, we are incredibly disappointed by a new and baffling policy. We have always set up a simple cat tent and tunnel for our pets—a setup that leaves no mark on the grass and provides them safe outdoor access from our RV.||Despite traveling across North America without a single complaint from any other campground, the Starke KOA has now decided this is unacceptable. The implication that a simple pet enclosure is too unsightly for their "upscale" vibe (quite a claim for Starke where the largest employer is the prison ) it is both humorous and frustrating. They seem to have forgotten they are a campground, not a five-star resort.||This inflexible and illogical rule has cost them a loyal customer. We will not be back, and we advise

My husband and I have so much fun at this KOA, the people make you feel like family. We're truckers with a 40 ft. straight truck that has an RV sleeper. They have events (like bingo, chair yoga, and more), the place is clean and well kept, the nature trail is nice, and there are shops nearby. We took a load that put us far away from family for Christmas, and it was so nice to go to their Christmas dinner and see friendly faces. They're very welcoming, we love coming here!

This is not a hotel as the app is trying to get me to rate...this is a KOA site! Staff are friendly and helpful. It is very peaceful here and my neighbors are sweet people, many here for the long term and some just passing through! Lovely place...

Great staff, cool old school feel grounds, well maintained, clean. I was glad I took them up on the offer of thanksgiving dinner. Tight knit group of friendly regulars. Great place.
