Star House Hill Country Getaway

We had the best time here. So peaceful and great night sky views. Great hosts - Kathy and Wayne are so nice. Beautiful artwork all around the property- I may have purchased a few things ☺️. Convenient location for day trips all around the area! Booking again soon!

We last visited this gem in Hill Country 8 years ago with our children and just returned as empty nesters last weekend. Kathy and Wayne are wonderful hosts, available if needed but not intrusive in any way. The Star House is cozy and has everything you could need for a lovely, relaxing stay. We enjoyed Valentine’s dinner at Dos Olivos in town and headed the opposite direction to Redbud Cafe (a must!) and Real Ale Brewing, each about 25 minutes away. Our favorite part is enjoying the quiet property by walking, feeding the goats, sitting on the porch sipping a drink, and THE STARS!

This place (especially hosts Kathy & Wayne) is super-welcoming. It's not only the main things- but all the little details that make you feel like there is a lot of love that went into this place. |Inside: Kitchen had some basics that definitely came in handy for us. Living room had super comfy couch with great wifi & smart tv access. (Movies, books, games also available.) Bathroom was quaint and had good quality towels. Bedroom was perfect space- we own sleep number bed and were worried we would miss our bed- but honestly- we slept better on this bed!! It was great to have a door to a little sitting area outside the bedroom. Lots of natural light. HVAC did a great job of keeping us comfortable. |Outside: What a beauty! The Star House BnB was an enjoyable time away from the Michigan winter. The Star house was cozy and comfortable for the two of us. The view of the hilly terrain in Texas was stunning even in January. Kathy was a great host and very friendly. She allowed for our privacy and provided us with some food and drink. I liked the small home feel and the starry night sky even in the winter months in Texas. I would recommend this location if you are planning on visiting Texas solo or with family and friends. Peaceful area with great views.

The Star House is always one of my favorite places to stay in the Hill Country. The bedroom has a great patio sitting area for coffee and wildlife watching in the morning. It's very quiet and perfect for watching the sunset, also. The loft is a good size and very comfortable. The hosts, Kathy and Wayne, couldn't be more pleasant. I return year after year and always have a great time at the Star House and exploring the area. There are so many fun things to do in that part of Texas.
