Cedar Break at Howard Ranch

We had a WONDERFUL stay at Cedar Break. The cabins are so quaint and cozy. We stayed in the one near the pond and we so enjoyed watching the fish and birds. Such a great place!

We secured Cedar Break at Howard Ranch as our wedding venue on 8 June 2024. We housed 42 guests between 10 cabins, the Old Bar N, and all 5 Airstreams. We held a pre-party in the Old Barn N, which accommodated all guests downstairs and on the balcony above. We reserved the Tobacco Barn for the ceremony to include a buffet-style dinner and plenty of room for dancing afterward. Due to the heat, we rented portable AC units and fans for the barn to keep the temperature down in the Texas heat. The 3-day weekend event was a success with no issues and no complaints. The staff went above and beyond to ensure all our guests, accommodations, and the wedding ceremony were perfect. We booked a hotel block with Cedar Break for our wedding guests this past June. The rooms worked out just fine - cute, clean, good location. Our biggest problem with Cedar Break came from working with Bretagne (Brittany), the site manager. She was unresponsive, difficult to communicate with, rarely at work, and snappy. She tried to get us to pay for our guests' rooms using our deposit, even though that is not standard practice at any other hotel block. When we tried to change that, it took weeks, because she does not respond quickly, and when she does, it's usually only to say she doesn't work until next Tuesday or whatever it may be. She took an entire extra month to return our security deposit, even though we had agreed on it being returned the day after our wedding. And she successfully

We had a wonderful time here! The whole place is so peaceful and beautifully surrounded by nature—it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. It’s just a short, scenic walk from the parking lot by the pond to the cabins, which are all decorated so cute and cozy! We really enjoyed our stay and are already hoping to come back soon. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway!

I was so pleased with our cabin! It was perfect for our stay for our grand daughter’s baptism. We enjoyed the antique chest and the rustic cabin that was appointed so well. The bed was inviting and comfortable as was the attached bathroom. The kitchen had just what we needed for our trip to the hill country. My husband’s grandmother was from Dripping Springs and we found relatives in the cemetery close by. I hope that we come back to this well-thought out oasis!
