Customer Reviews
St Marks was actually such a good option for a cheap and convenient place to stay. The location is amazing!!!! Theres so much to do in the area. The hotel itself offered free wifi and free cancelation. You have to pay CASH at the hotel upon arrival, and there is not an elevator so there are a few stairs to climb. The front desk is very chill. We had no problem with leaving our bags before or after check-in/out. The rooms are quite old. There is no lockbox in the room to leave valuables, and the carpets definitely need a deeper vacuum. However, the staff clean the sheets nicely and daily, and the bathrooms are pretty well-kept. We saw no bugs at all. Overall, for the price, i think its worth coming back
This is an old hotel with old furniture, so you shouldn't expect 5-star amenities, wellness facilities, etc. It's perfect to sleep over and go somewhere during the day. It's clean, which is essential to me. You have hot water all the time, and no one will bother you if you don't want to. Overall, for this price, it's perfect! The location is excellent, with the metro nearby. Except for the old furniture and outdated look, this hotel would have earned 5 stars.
We chose St Marks due to it been low price as we didn't wish to spend all our budget on a posh hotel when we will be out exploring all day. It is a very old style hotel, very basic, small rooms however we knew what we were getting. ||Location is amazing!! 3 min walk from Asta Place subway which took you anywhere. Rays place below serve coffee, pizza, sandwiches, cakes, etc - amazing! ||The staff at St Marks were very polite and pleasant , 24 hour front desk, really helpful. ||Beds were comfortable, bathroom was ok - small but ok. ||The carpet could have done with a hoover, but the rest seemed fairly clean. No lift, lots of stairs, was a killer after all day walking but we survived ha!||Overall, very happy.
We chose this hotel because the price was right. However, I do not recommend to anyone for the following reasons: no elevator, you have to carry your suitcases upstairs. There is no security, the hotel is open 24 hours and the front desk doesn’t check who walks in. The rooms are cold, only heated by a small plug-in heater. There was no hot water, and the sinks were leaking every time you turned the faucet on. Also there are no tissues, no dresser or drawers, and when we asked for an extra blanket, they brought one that had four or five holes in it. On the plus side the location is wonderful, it’s right next-door to a wonderful bagel café/pizza place that has a great variety of foods and is open 24 hours and just a couple of blocks away from a CVS and a Wegmans and subway station. All in a
The location is convinient yet noisy, depends on what is your preference. They accept cash only, so better be prepared beforehand. Room is cozy and a little bit tiny. I think give up on the price it is a good choice but if you are willing to pay a little bit more you will have better experience.
