Spruce Grove Campground

Simply one of the most beautiful campgrounds I've ever visited. There's a wonderful creek flowing through the middle of it, surrounded by beautiful hills to hike. The only issue I had were the bathrooms were very bad. I doubt they've been cleaned in six months. You could smell them three campsites away.

Overall, great experience for us. Seems there's some bad reviews that had me worried, but none of the concerns others raised showed up at all. There's even a one star review from someone simply because they saw other reviews but never stayed...seems fishy to me? We stayed three nights as the last leg of our Garden of the Gods - Pikes Peak - Cliff Dwellings and finally Rocky Mountain National Park trip. When we pulled in, it was a few minute wait for someone in a golf cart to bring us to our site. Very pleasant experience where they guided us in, made sure we knew which hook ups were ours and explained where our site extended to. Some may want to be left alone when they park, by I've seen plenty of people open slides into electrical boxes to not be bothered by them wanting this. They also

*Update: we have heard back from the campground owners, who refunded our money and assured us they’d be making things right on their end as well. They had apparently received other complaints from campers that weekend. If Josh, the camp host, is no longer at the site, my rating would go up to a 4+ star considering everything else besides the experience with the camp host was good.* If I could give 0 stars I would. My family of 6 (my husband, myself, and our 4 kids, ages ranging from 9 to 4 month) booked campground for 2 nights, and paid for an extra car since my husband would be arriving later than the rest us with the camper. I will say that the first 30-ish hours of our stay were pleasant. The first afternoon was rainy, but we enjoyed our time inside our camper eating, play card games

We stayed in spot 003 and had a great time. Even though storms blew in on us, it wasn't super windy for us with the rocks surrounding you. There's limited shade during the day at this spot as well. You're right next to the trail and restroom. So if people hiking in or out is an issue for you or using the bathroom at any time, this isn't the spot for you. We will definitely be back when the water is warmer.

Such a cute camping spot! This was our first time camping here and I would definitely come back over and over again. Right next to the river and you can hike and rock climb literally anywhere. The chipmunks and prairie dogs were so cute and curious too. The camp hosts were kind and helpful making sure we were taken care of and that the whole site was clean. It gets very cold over night so make sure you pack accordingly. The river is great to swim and walk in and the views are fantastic.
