SpringHill Suites by Marriott Milwaukee West/Wauwatosa

I recently traveled into the Wauwatosa area for work and stayed at a newer hotel that, on first impression, seemed great — very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near a variety of restaurants, shops, and major routes into downtown Milwaukee and the surrounding suburbs. Wauwatosa itself is a wonderful area — vibrant, walkable, and known for its great dining scene and local professionalism across many businesses. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular property didn’t reflect that same level of professionalism the area is known for. When I arrived, the front desk attendant (a young man with several facial piercings, whose name I didn’t catch) was extremely rude and dismissive — hardly the welcome you expect when checking into a major hotel brand. This is a great hotel, despite some of the drawbacks of the location. Rooms are clean, service is spectacular, and it's cost effective when visiting family in the area. Also love that they had EV charging in case I end up with one as a rental. Would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Easy to check-in and use it as a base camp. Negative: Hard to control the room temperature. Very cold unless you turn off heating and cooling.

We stayed three nights here while in town for our grandson's confirmation. The beds were very comfortable and our room was extremely quiet. The rooms were large and also had a trundle bed that served as a couch. The finishes were nice. The bathroom door had textured glass. We ate breakfast here every morning - I enjoyed the oatmeal with the blueberry compote.

The rooms are very spacious. We stayed 3 nights. TV options not good. The breakfast was good. Better on Thursday morning. Nice fitness room.
