SpringHill Suites by Marriott Amarillo

Flawless stay at this hotel. Fantastic check in, super friendly staff, and the room was immaculate (I use my own black light to check hotels after a gross experience at a 5star NYC hotel many years ago). There is a Tesla supercharger about 100 feet from the hotel. Rooms were huge and modern. It was just me in a king room, but there’s a living room with a fold out sofa bed for larger groups. I arrived at hotel really late but the night auditor was kind enough to allow me to still check in - she really made me feel welcome too! I drive through Amarillo often and this is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at yet in town. The price was slightly lower than average comparing with other area hotels in town. I won a free raffle ticket to stay here. I have a small 15 lb chihuahua and I will admit I should have asked about the pet policy, but I I have never had any other hotel give me a hard time about it and ai brought his crate as well just in case since he is crate trained. My kids have been looking forward to this stay all summer. The truth is that we felt more like we were bothering the staff by arriving than them caring anything about giving us direction for what the next steps are. I supposed that’s likely because we were free guests. On top of that, they charged my partner’s card a fee even though we didn’t stay there or see the room. I will say that the bar area looked nice, but the staff didn’t offer us any alternative options including booking our room for another night or letting us

Not the best Marriott we’ve stayed in. Room was good, but AC would randomly shut off. Phone didn’t work in the room, and multiple lights were out in room. Breakfast was not what it usually is at other Springhill Suites.

Nice hotel but not quiet. Could hear the people beside us and above us easily. Room was nice and clean. Staff was nice and helpful. Would have liked healthier choices for breakfast. All prepackaged pastries. Would also like to be able to fill water bottles with filtered water all day (only available during breakfast then locked). The hotel leaves out water bottles (which is nice) but there is no place to recycle them.

This is one of the better Marriott hotels to stay in Amarillo. It's on the edge west of town. My room, 420, was super clean, bright, great temperature wise. The only downside is the rooms in front because you will hear all the interstate noise majority of the night. I felt most safe at this location. There's no shortage of restaurants or shopping nearby and Buc-ee's is just 10 miles east. The room was overly spacious. I didn't use the trundle bed and the king size bed is great size, just a bit too firm for me. The bathroom amenities were on point, minus there not being no body lotion (I guess this isn't a thing anymore). I left super early the next morning and was unable to make it to breakfast here.
