Spark by Hilton Mechanicsburg

This is our last visit with Spark. I am truly disappointed in the hotel. Rooms are barren and austere. No microwave, no coffee maker, no ice bucket, no dresser to unpack into, limited electric outlets, and the tv system is not user-friendly at all. It's noisy. Recently bought from Wingate, and all the amenities missing from Spark were there with Wingate. No hot breakfast now, not a bad selection for continental breakfast but miss the hot one. The grounds are in bad shape and need a lot of work to get them looking good. The dog fee has tripled. We paid $25 a night with Wingate, and now it's $75. When you pay a double room price just to bring your 12-pound puppy along, it is not a good thing. While the room prices are competitive, we will find another place to stay in the future. We've bee

Positive: Location is convenient.Front desk staff was nice.House keeping ladies were very friendly in the hallways. Negative: The bathroom shower curtain was covered in mold. The door keys had to be reset multiple times.The pool was under construction.

I flew in a friend and had them stay at Spark. It was my first time using this hotel. The staff were all amazing but the service is another story. I was charged for the room through a third party like Expedia and I showed them the paperwork and receipt. My friend stayed there and then they charged my friend for the room also. I have called multiple times, sent them an email with my reciept and was told they would look into it. They have not refunded me nor my friend so we were double charged.

For the price, I wasn't expecting much but it was much better than I expected. We chose this hotel for it's location, right off the turnpike. Pros: Newly built. Bed was 10+ super comfy. Room was quiet facing the parking lot, clean and spacious, standard bathroom with plenty of hot water. Nice pool and hot tub. Cons: As a budget hotel, don't expect luxury. Towels are soft but not thick, toilet tissue is single ply, decor and furnishings are Ikea-like in primary colors. Complimentary breakfast was oatmeal packets, unpeeled hard boiled eggs and low average bagels and muffins.

I had a wonderful stay! I’ve stayed at multiple Sparks locations across the United States, and each experience has been consistently positive. I really prefer Sparks because it’s budget-friendly while still offering the quality of service and expectations that Hilton is known for. Although there’s no coffee in the rooms, I understand it's part of their plan to keep prices affordable.However, they do have fresh coffee in the lobby all day with great condiments to choose from. A big thank you to everyone at the hotel—you all provided excellent service, and I truly appreciate it!
