Spark by Hilton Amarillo Western Plaza

Room for improvement would be the summary I'd give. The location is good and easy to get to. The front desk staff is fine. With digital check in though anyone could just waltz in and go to a floor which is scary. When making room keys at the front desk no ID is asked for - also scary. It's been renovated which isnt terrible, but there is improvement needed. The elevator is concerning and when going down likes to get hung up on floor 2. One day it may fail and this will be my told you so. The rooms are not terrible, but are bright as hell. Unsure why adults need a night light that will not shut off. If someone is going to break in and murder me, let me die in the dark at this point. AC unit in one room we booked couldn't be controlled by the wall panel only the unit itself. Other room, cont

Positive: Stand out items at this hotel: a short walking distance to several restaurants, three contact chargers in very convenient locations with a couple of outlets and USB ports, very large room. Negative: The breakfast was uninspired, but so are all other included hotel breakfasts.

My family and I stayed from 11/27-11/29 for a National wresting tournament. We do a lot of traveling due to our sons wrestling tournaments and this trip in particular we traveled 12 hours never setting foot in Amarillo before. This hotel was clean, check in was easy, it’s centrally located near all sorts of excellent dining options and stores. The staff, management and owners all treat you like family. Minal, Valerie, the woman working the breakfast area Saturday who has a nephew that boxes (I hope he is doing well), Lluvia. All were excellent. My son left some items very near to him and they went out of thier way to get them back to us. Highly recommend this hotel if you find yourself in Amarillo. Thank you!

Everything was great except the spotlights pointing directly into the room on the 3rd floor. Insanely bright and hard to sleep even when using the curtains as strategically as possible to block it. The second image was taken at 2:55am and that light is solely from the spotlight. Might not hurt to point them down a bit so they aren’t directly pointing into a paid room. The staff were nice and the place was clean.

The hotel definitely has some room to improve but for the price it was pretty good. We enjoy the largeness of the rooms and the extra seating and pullout tables! We digitally checked in and our room was not clean and still had the beds stripped and tissues out, but the front desk was quick to get us a new room. It was a really busy week and day so we appreciate the quick rearrange. Pool and hot tub were unfortunately closed for maintenance, so we did not get to experience those. Breakfast was also alright too, not the best of the hiltons, but better than nothing! Valerie was really great even though she was the only one working, kudos to her!!
