Sonesta Select Atlanta Midtown Georgia Tech

This hotel is a good basic one for short business trips. It has a spacious and beautiful lounge area in the lobby, and a pool and fitness center. The beds are decently, comfortable, with nice pillows. The shower has excellent soap and water pressure. Breakfast is not free, I spent $15 on my avocado toast and orange juice. It is from 7-10am daily. There is a small snacks for purchase section near the front desk. At night, I did hear doors closing from neighboring rooms, as the door slam guards are not foolproof. There is a laundry area in the hotel as well. It is near the freeway, so traffic noises can be heard from the rooms. Upon check in, I needed to approve my card online, but they told me without the physical card, that I could not complete my purchase for the stay, so I had to use a

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay. I booked a double bed room months in advance, specifically because I was traveling with two children and another adult. Upon arrival, I was given a king-size room instead, which did not accommodate my family comfortably. When I questioned this, the front desk woman name Tasha told rooms are given on a “first come, first serve” basis, which makes no sense considering I secured my reservation well in advance. To make matters worse, when we entered the room, the television screen displayed “Welcome Jennifer Robinson.” Clearly that isn’t my name. This immediately made me question whether proper cleaning and resetting procedures were even followed. The room itself was filthy. Unacceptable Service and Disgraceful Room Conditions I stayed at this hotel for my daughter’s cheer competition, and it was a disaster from start to finish. Despite booking and paying in advance for two double beds, we were checked into a single King room without any prior notification. When we raised the issue, the front desk agent, Tasha, was incredibly unprofessional, condescending, and shifted all blame to "the new guy." Since there was no manager on duty, we were eventually offered a King suite with a pull-out sofa. The conditions were unlivable: the room clearly hadn't been cleaned in months, the chair and pull-out mattress were heavily stained, and it took an hour just to get linens. First of all, the location was perfect for midtown Atlanta. Right in the center of everything and within walking distance from a great breakfast place. The room was exceptionally clean. And I have to say something about the extra nice folks that greeted me especially Chris the manager was super helpful as I was not familiar with the area. His recommendation for breakfast (ahem.. Silver Skillet) was on point! (Thanks Chris!). For you next stay in Atlanta I highly recommend staying here!! enjoy!
