Sonesta Select Atlanta Cumberland Galleria Ballpark

I booked a stay at **Sonesta Select Atlanta Cumberland Galleria specifically to celebrate my son’s 9th birthday because the hotel advertises an indoor pool. Unfortunately, the experience we had with staff completely overshadowed what should have been a special evening. Around 7:00 PM we went down to the pool area. At the time, the pool was calm and occupied only by women and children. A staff member named Carlos approached us and told us we had five minutes to leave. There was no polite explanation or request—just a very sharp and abrasive tone. Naturally, I asked why we were being asked to leave when the pool was still being used and it was only 7 PM. The location of this property is in a very convenient and centralized area of Atlanta GA. The Atmosphere and the scenery are Amazing. The rooms are Efficient, Cozy, Spacious, Clean, Quiet, Properly Furnished and Maintained, Comfortable, Safe and Accommodating. The value is well worth the stay as well as the price. On top of it all the Service is Amazing bar none. Carlos S made sure that my Wife and I had an Excellent and comfortable stay from Checking in until Checking out. Along with being Extremely informative as well as helpful with our reservations. He also is a very Professional, Well spoken, respectful, Kind, Well manored, patient and Personable human being. It was truly an Honor to meet him. Truly a Shining example of how Everyone in the Hospitality business should be.

Positive: Planes grounded, finally got food, couldn't eat because being harassed to checked in. Cleanliness wonderful, room was wonderful. Did NOT return deposit. Seemingly only front desk training needed. Negative: Front desk seemingly dies not like customers using lobby or lounge. Did not return the $50 deposit, but cleaning staff excellent.

Stayed on and off for the better part of two months on business. Location is a stone's throw away from the baseball stadium, plenty of restaurants and a decent amount of entertainment (ride-sharing apps will come in handy if you're looking to venture out). Parking is abundant, easily accessible. Decent sized gym and indoor pool (BIG plus) and washer/dryers on site (for those with extended stays). I do want to give a quick shoutout to Carlos at reception. When I had an issue with a new room i stayed in, Carlos took immediate action; he made sure that i was well accommodated for. He followed up after the room transfer, made sure i was comfortable and happy. Carlos has been a tremendous help the entire time i stayed; every time i had a question, he was able to assist. When I checked into Room 818, I met Carlos. I came in with questions, but he kindly asked to review everything first and then answer any I had afterward. He was very thorough—explaining my stay, the parking garage location, and all the necessary details. Carlos was professional, knowledgeable, and even recommended Marietta Diner, which was excellent. The room was clean, and all the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.
