Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina

From the moment we arrived at Sonesta, the experience was absolutely exceptional. We were warmly welcomed by valet, friendly, professional, and made check-in feel seamless from the very start. His positive attitude truly set the tone for our stay. At the front desk, Kimberly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely valued as guests. Her customer service was outstanding and greatly appreciated. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. Every detail reflected care and comfort, making our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, the service and hospitality exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful stay.

This is an old hotel that has had a very minimal renovation and is simply not well run. The rooms are worn out and any paint that was applied as a mild renovation is starting to peel off. |The staff are all over-worked and miss many details. We had rooms not cleaned during a three-night stay, the breakfast kitchen staff was frazzled, and the food was frankly terrible (very spoiled cheese in omelette). Worst of all, we were supposed to get a credit for some of the missteps. Discussed this at the front desk, and credit did not go through. Called again a few days later, was promised credit would be made, it was not. Called their accounting department, and there is always an outgoing message saying someone is out of the office and can't answer. This is just bad.|I am a Sonesta Travel Pass Plat

Positive: The hotel's location is fantastic! It's situated right beside restaurants and shopping areas, with the beach just a short walk away. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, with the bar team being particularly outstanding. Negative: The balconies were being painted while we stayed, with plastic covering all the windows and blocking any visibility. The room felt like a closed box with no view whatsoever—certainly no ocean view. The scheduling of this work was extremely poor.

We stayed five nights in February at the Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina in an Ocean View double queen room, and it was truly a memorable experience. Our room had a stunning view of the marina and the ocean. Since we visited during breeding season, we could actually hear humpback whales at night from our balcony — an unforgettable and magical touch that made the stay feel extra special. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well maintained. Amenities include a bar and restaurant, fitness center, paid laundry room, and gift shop. There’s also a heated outdoor pool and hot tub. While the pool area looked fairly basic, it was clean and felt safe. We didn’t end up using it, but it was nice to have the option. One thing to note is that there’s no free parking. Self-parking is $40 per night,

The hotel rooms were fine, the food was great and the service was great at the bar. However, upon checkout I was double charged due to an error that was made by the staff when I checked in. I discussed this with the front desk when I checked out and the said they would take care of it and a refund would be done within 5-7 days. This has not occured and it has been 14 days. I have called twice, left a voicemail for the manager and emailed the manager with no response. This is unacceptable and the reason I am giving this hotel a 1 star review.
