Sojourn at The Legacy Inn

Really enjoyed my stay at Sojourn at The Legacy Inn! The place was very clean. There was a nice common area with lots of complementary snacks, bottled water, breakfast items (muffins, bagels and cream cheese, instant oatmeal, etc.) There were also homemade breakfast tacos. All the touches to the place made it a very sweet stay. The room itself was nice and quaint. It was one of the best pet-friendly (only on the first floor) places I've stayed. The door to the room had small gaps on the top and bottom, but even with this all the other guests were so kind and courteous that noise was not an issue! Would stay again!

We had a lovely stay at the Legacy Inn for three nights. The room was large and comfortable (Carter and Cash suite). There was an issue with the heat when we checked in, but someone arrived within 10 minutes of being emailed that there was a problem. They fixed it and everything was fine after that. Issues are going to happen in life - all we can ask is that they are handled quickly and in a friendly manner, and they did both. The location is nice with the greenway being right behind the Inn. Easy walking distance to downtown Luray. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the back yard in the sun. The Fitzgerald Room was cozy and the front porch was delightful. Do not stay here. I booked a two-day, last-minute stay at the Legacy Inn, as I saw some rooms with good reviews. The place advertised historic settings, the rural allure of Luray, and proximity to the cute downtown area. It was one of the worst stays I've had in my adult life -- and I had to aggressively pursue appropriate treatment. The first problem is that this place advertises itself as a hotel or inn, and it's really just a multi-unit rental. Check in is virtual and requires more verification -- which was the first red flag, as I had booked through a third-party site and pre-paid. There is no front desk and you do a back and forth by text to gain codes for entry. I never got inside the building. There is no one physically on site, so when I arrived around 9, I called to find out how to get in and the woman said I needed to fill out an additional form on a separate site. We had to hang up because there is barely any reception and I didn’t have WiFi access, so as I’m filling out the form, getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, the site goes down. I wasn’t even alone—another couple who had filled the form in advance also could not get their code to work and were also stuck outside for nearly an hour. I tried calling back when the site went down and no one answered. I was livid. My preschool child and I had been outside for an hour, getting eaten alive by insects, after driving for hours to escape the tropical storm, unable to access our room, a bathroom,

This place was amazing, they have complementary water and snacks, great location to downtown and even have bikes on site for anyone to use, rooms were extremely clean and i was just very pleased with our stay
