SodDawg RV Park

A solid 4 stars for SawDawg RV Park. To be fair they aren't going for the 5-Star resort vibe and I'd stay here over any KOA anytime. I'm not into frills and I don't need to be entertained or fed. I can entertain & feed myself. I just need full hookups and great wi-fi and SodDawg delivers exactly that. The online reservation, check-in & check-out process is fast & simple and the price affordable. There were no issues with full dumpsters. There was plenty of room for trash and the dumpsters were shiny, clean and looked brand new. This RV park should be renamed sticker dog park. There is nothing but weeds and gravel. The sites are somewhat level. We booked site 24 but after setting up realized the electrical didn’t work. When we called management he said he already had a complaint on that site and offered to take $20 off the site if we would move. This is a very overpriced for what it is. There were a lot of FT workers with multiple trucks. One guy was grinding on something. While my husband was walking around the our space he completely punctured his tennis shoe with a four inch stick. This is not a family or pet friendly area. There are zero amenities. No shower, green space or bathrooms. It does have good access from the freeway and away from the city. There is a train nearby but it was not bothersome. Manageme

An oasis in the desert? Actually there are a bunch of small RV parks just off the highway along US 287 between Amarillo and Ft Worth but SodDwag is new, unmanned, and convenient. We paid $40 for an 80 ft pull-thru. 30 and 50 amp. The sites are pretty spacious, not just a parking lot. No frills, no bathrooms, no picnic tables, no tents, no campfires, no trees, no RVs older than 15 years and no RVs that are not self contained. Gravel driveways and parking spaces with full hookups. The park is dark and quiet, easy pull-thrus and back-ins. All communication is via phone their app and email. Check in and out via the app. Good cell service. I felt the price was reasonable and was a better alternative than Walmart because it was hot and the wind was whipping. We felt safe there.

Rating this as an “overnight” stay spot only. Would not recommend for multiple days as there are not any amenities except full hook ups. Some back in, some nice long pull throughs. Road is gravel, sites are gravel and grass with decent spacing between. Sites appear level. Most campers appear to be longer term, we and one other were overnighters. Not trashy looking like some parks we have stayed at that had a majority of longer term. Would stay again if we needed a spot for a night in the area.

My husband and I are spontaneous travelers, and this RV park was the perfect fit for us. We stumbled upon Sod Dawg on Google, and the booking process was a breeze. We love the open field concept. Perfect for overnight hookups! We arrived after check-in hours, so we called to confirm the process. The person we spoke to was super helpful, friendly, and answered a late phone call, which we really appreciate. The online booking process is super easy and quick. The best part was listening to the train passing at night and the peaceful sounds of texas ! We can’t wait to come back again!
