Smuggler's Cove Beach Resort

Renovated hotel on Anna Maria Island. We stayed in a one bedroom on the first floor. Parking is in front of the door. Large living room and kitchen. Small bathroom. Our unit was L shaped and our bedroom was behind the next door units living room. The walls were thin enough to hear their tv. Our neighbors were quiet at night, but this could be a problem. The unit is across the street from the beach. The beach is open with no buildings in that section. There are nice beach chairs provided at the walkway you can put on the beach where you like. They also provide beach towels in the unit. Very nice garden area on the bay side. They have a Mr Coffee maker with coffee filters. The staff is friendly and helpful. One-bedroom unit on second floor (no elevators) has beautiful sunrise views from private balcony.Spacious except for bathroom. Well-stocked kitchen! Beach access across the street with free lounge chairs available, and beautiful sunset views on nice beach. Convenient to restaurants, bars, shopping and free live entertainment. Free Trolley with stops nearby! Nice pool and hot tub! Large patio with plenty of seating, gas grills and fishing dock on Tampa Bay. Laundry facilities on-site, second floor.

This was our 3rd time at this resort. We love it! Beautiful sunrise views off the pier in the morning, and a short stroll across the street for the beach. The free trolly stop is super close, and can take you anywhere on the island, but there are many places to eat and shop within walking distance. Some of the furniture/decor is a bit dated, but it's very clean and well equipped. We don't stay in the room much anyway! We will be returning next year for sure.

This is a small resort. Only 2 stories high and about 50 units on the property. What it lacks in sophistication and fancy amenities, it more than makes up with it's proximity to beautiful beaches, a great bay and some really nice restaurants close by. The units are functional, clean and comfortable. They have great Wi-Fi, and everything that 2 or 3 people will need for a great vacation any time of the year.

If you are looking for luxury with all the frills, this not the place for you. If it's just 2 adults (and maybe a couple of small kids) looking to relax at the beach and be at a very friendly resort, this is absolutely the right place.||There is a beautiful bay view out back, a really nice pool/hot tub, and it's only 500 feet to a beautiful beach with FREE sun loungers provided by the resort. There are lots of places to eat nearby and plenty of places to explore. There's a free city trolley if you don't want to drive.||The staff are friendly and know the area inside out.
