Sleepy Pines Motel

Older, not as modern as some, but don't let that sway you. Rustic, beautiful little rooms comfy bed. Felt like home and the people are great! Sometimes it's all about the feel of a place and not every amenity on the face of this planet. Location easy to find and for you avid, quilters, there's a beautiful quilt fabric shop right next store. What more could you ask for? LOL

Sleepy Pines Motel was a pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly, the rooms are very clean, the bed is comfortable (wow), and even the pillows are nice. |The rooms are older and show wear but it's not a problem for us. Our room was completely paneled in dark wood--which we thought was neat. The mini-fridge is large enough to actually store food and ice. |The birdhouses out front are a nice touch. Lastly, considering the room's proximity to the road out front, the room was quiet and we slept peacefully all three nights.

I travel quite a bit and have my own hotel rating based on beds, shower and hot water, cleanliness and friendly staff. Sleep Pines wins. The bird houses and quilts and landscaping make this far more than the usual small town motel. 7 miles to Lake Davis is an easy drive. Portola has a solid variety of stores and services.

This place was super cute and the rooms looked like cabins. It's not too spacious, but the rooms were clean, service was nice, and it felt really homey. They were very affordable and for a small town motel, it was well kept and came with a microwave and a mini fridge. Will be staying here again.

Such a cozy stay! Has all that you need in the rooms (fridge, microwave, tv, coffee, shower items, etc). Would definitely recommend.
