Lake Davis Resort

We recommend this resort to anyone who is looking to have a quiet relaxing trip. We had an amazing experience with the new owner of the resort. We decided to have an end of summer fishing trip and we were greatful to find a resort that would accommodate 4 adult and 1 child. We were the pleasantly surprised by the suit #5 it had everything even a back patio type area were we were able to set up our portable fire pit. The WiFi had an amazing signal (for our special needs son who has a tablet/video games). We were told that there was a bear in the area we didn't see or hear anything but it was quite and relaxing enough for a family of dear to walk by off the back patio. Not far away some amazing hiking and fishing perfect for a quiet getaway. The lake is perfect for fishing ( boating) kayakin

Lake Davis Resort is under new ownership, the hosts Jamie and Jon are amazing! This was the first time we stayed at Lake Davis Resort and we were very impressed with how clean the rooms are, they provide you with coffee, creamer and sugar (I need my coffee in the morning). The room has a microwave and a mini fridge. Great location! Less than 5 minute-walk to the trails, for walking/hiking and/or biking, 8-minute walk to the lake, and the campsite next door has a little store where you will find all your basics (bandages, snacks, drinks…). Portola is about a 15 minute drive from Lake Davis Resort, we tried a few restaurants in Portola and visited the railroad museum and the Nature Preserve (both also highly recommended). We booked 2 nights but we liked it so much that we stayed a 3rd night.

We had a great stay at the two bedroom cabin! Close to lots of forest and lake areas great for outdoor activities and only 1:20 to Lake Tahoe. Having the convenience of a full kitchen with a kid is so great when on vacation. Owner made sure we had everything we needed.

This was great for what it is. Don't expect a luxury resort, this is a no frills location but it is clean and has all the amenities I needed. I only stayed two nights and it was essentially my base for a bicycle race in Portola. It was quiet (except for the kids playing baseball in the parking lot each evening, but not the fault of the hotel) and relatively close to the event and other necessities. If you are going to fish or use the lake I think this would be an ideal location. I would recommend.

I've gone to this resort with my wife and three stepdaughters and in the winter time to go sledding and plan the snow and enjoy the weekend in a cabin. They went out of their way completely to make a sledding hill for the kids to play on they use their backhoe they didn't have to do it but they did and they did an amazing job the service is outstanding the rates are completely reasonable would highly recommend if you want a nice quiet getaway for the weekend or the week whatever summertime wintertime anytime... I'm looking to book again to go back 1000% satisfied. Thanks again....
