Grizzly Campground

Made a last minute decision after hours to camp at "J and J Grizzly Store and Camping Resort" near Grizzly Campground when I was a few miles down the road on highway 70. I was on my motorcycle looking for a tent site and this site looked great on the internet so I thought I'd try it. Called the phone number for the site and the voicemail says reservations are highly recommended due to how busy the camp site gets. It does not say it's required so I rode up the road to see if it's like a lot of other campsites I've stayed at while riding the NorCal BDR ( has a self registration envelope and / or a QR code I could scan to go to the web site). Got there, there was no one was around in the office/store. No self registration envelope location, no after hours number to call, and no indication

Nice quiet little campground, friendly host as well. Most campsites are very big with plenty of room to spread out. There are plenty of double sites as well so bring the family. Just a shortwalk to Lake Davis. We brought our dog and he had a blast! We got a little snow during the first night of three. We saw wildlife including some deer, an eagle, and even a bear when going down the road. We had a great time and highly recommend this campground. We will be returning in the near future.

I would give 5 stars but not cuz of lacking shower room. Plus, they could have provide bear proof containers around. Watch out for bears cuz I saw it and visited on my tent area during my 1st night. Store all your stuff back in the car cuz Bear is really around. Lake was nice and very close by to my unit. Restroom has lots of toilet paper, it’s a plus! Over all the nice place to camp!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. You get a lot of space, the scenery is gorgeous, and every year we see deer, bears, and the fishing is plentiful.

Amazing place for camping hiking swimming and more. Overall had a very nice trip. The campgrounds are clean and camp keepers are helpful and nice.
