Sleep Inn & Suites Pooler - Savannah Area

My Daughter stayed here last year and told me it was decent so I booked. I'll be honest, when I checked in there was a bit of a funky smell in the hallways, and some Dude was loud talking, I left room and dude was in the hallway on his phone ? It was early and he looked harmless so I ignored it. Fortunately the noise / conversation subsided early enough and I never heard it again. The night sleep was restful and quiet, I woke well slept and continued on my journey the next morning after a good night sleep !

Pool isn't open. Supposedly for renovations. But nothing is being worked on. Fitness center also not open. "Hot" breakfast doesn't have eggs, toast, sausage, bacon. Please be advised. I called and asked about both and the man said yes to pool and breakfast. Only a waffle maker. I go to hotels for the pool. And I know him saying there was a pool is ok. Cuz there is a pool but I need to make sure I'm asking if the pool is functioning and I'm able to to get in it. Because he wasn't lying saying there was a pool cuz there was a pool just closed for "renovations" which is bs. But good rate and the bed is great with 5 pillows and the sheets are super soft and comfy and there's a comforter too. Very nice.

I should have listened to the negative reviews, but my last stay at a Sleep Inn was fantastic so I just didn't expect this. The hotel was gross. The carpets were stained everywhere. It looked like it had never had a deep clean since it was built... and it got worse when you went into my room. There was hair all over the bathroom (I have photos). When I asked the front desk if I could get someone to vacuum she informed me that they don't vacuum bathrooms so I just had other people's pubes on the floor all weekend. There were multiple large burn holes in the carpet. The lamps were falling apart. The desk chair was actually broken. They replaced that for me with a less broken desk chair. I actually bought a $5 blanket at Walmart so I could cover the couch. It was that bad. Breakfast was...meh

Positive: Price and clean bed. Negative: Hotel was old so acceptable given its age, but room were dusty, dirty in areas. The 2nd floor lobby off the elevator stunk up the entire 2nd floor with bags of garbage sitting in abd on table when you get off elevator. Breakfast was tge worst ever.

There were some stains in the carpet that looked like motor oil and some of the furniture had water damage, but the staff were amazing, so helpful and nice. I did not meet one staff member there that was not friendly. The staff is what really pulled it off for me at the other stuff not been there I would have gave the hotel at 10.
