Residence Inn by Marriott Savannah Airport

I'm an extremely loyal Marriott Bonvoy member. I go out of my way to retain my Silver Elite or Gold Elite status. And I've only written good reviews for Marriott because my experience is usually top notch. However this was not the case in October of last year. I accidentally left a treasured bracelet in a room on October 20th and didn't realize until I was about an hour away from the property, on a trek back to Northwest Florida. I immediately called and the general manager said she'd check the room and call me back. Thankfully she found my bracelet and I told her I'd send a label to send it back to me. Stayed here for 2 nights (Fri/Sat) in a 2-queen unit. Just a heads up, the “living” area/kitchen and “bedroom” are all open to each other. I only mentioned that because when I looked at the photos before booking, it appeared to me that the beds were in a separate room. So if that matters to you now you know :-). ||||Overall, it was a good room, lots of natural light with plenty of space. It was nice having a refrigerator and kitchen as well as a separate seating area. Lots of lighting choices. The staff was really nice and it was mostly quiet.||||That being said, the lobby and room was a bit tired. However, it appeared there was some lobby renovation happening. As a Marriott Rewards members, I did expect some perks. I arrived late night and was greeted well by the gentleman at the front desk. He was very friendly and greeted me promptly. The hotel was very clean and check in was quick. The room was also pretty clean. We had breakfast every morning although they didn't do a very good job keeping silverware stocked. Even when I asked for a spoon, they got me one but left the spoon container empty so more customers were also asking for the same. The pool area was clean but the pool water itself was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. It’s always a great idea to stay at the residence inn Savannah/Pooler Ga. The Hotel is close to a lot of great food spots and restaurants. Some great shopping spots including the Tanger mall is also nearby and a planet fitness just opened, so it’s great. Eva who operates the front desk sometimes makes you feel right at home. She is amazing, her smile and welcoming presence is contagious. She makes sure your request is fulfilled in a timely manner and she remember names which is impressive. Coming from a background in hotel management I can say with confidence, Eva understands hospitality. The breakfast is pretty decent as well in the mornings.

I'm going on over a dozen years of elite status with Marriott and this is the first time I've left a negative review for any of the properties I've stayed at around the country. I usually spend 100+ nights a year on the road, mostly only stay in Marriott properties.
