Sioux Motel

I needed two rooms. I tried to reserve the rooms separately because it was cheaper to do it this way. I had reserved the first room then tried to reserve the second room and it said sold out. This was later in the evening. I called Expedia the next day hoping they could help me as the room I had actually reserved was nonrefundable. Sioux said no. I felt that they certainly should have refunded my money as this was an extenuating circumstance. The next time I pass through...and I will...I won't stop here. We ended up going to the Best Western up the road and were very happy with our stay.

We stayed here because the campground we were planning on was closed, and other hotels were pricy and charged a lot extra for a dog. This did not seem like a $99 dollar hotel, but it was the cheapest we found. Friendly person at the desk, but the first room we were given smelled like dog pee. Unacceptable. She gave us a different room which smelled very stale, but the linens were clean and the main bathroom facilities very clean. The A/C worked well but was loud. Windows could not be opened. Anyway, we prefer to patronize locally owned businesses rather than chains, and we don't mind quirks like cars being worked on by people who seem to be living there long term. I'm sure it's hard to compete with new chain hotels but I wish they'd clean the carpets, walls, and doors more often.

Nice quick service. Had pur dog along, there is $25 charge which makes it $140 room and it smelled like dirty feet. Maybe because it was a pet room but...my house doesn't smell and a dog lives there so maybe they could do better on that. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

Rooms were as described. Owner checked us in and all went very smoothly. Rooms were cleaned well stocked with clean towels and cloths. Microwave and mini fridge. Would recommend. Long trip and found them and was very thankful.

Stayed the night of Labor Day 2025. Sat outside of the room, ate a pizza, smoked then went inside, showered, slept got up early the next day and continued our trip. When we stopped the next night it was noticed that the Sioux Motel charged us an additional $50 for “suspicion of smoking in the room”. NO SMOKING OCCURRED IN OUR ROOM! The person who booked us in even saw us smoking outside of the room!! SCAM!!!
