Winter camping is available . Road to Campground is plowed, ( dead end with a turnaround ) campground is not plowed. You could park in the big turnaround and would have to walk into the campground only acouple 100ft. Unless you have 4x4 then getting into the campground, wouldn’t be too difficult if youre a chance taker.

Campsite #18, mid-week, mid-August. Shupac Lake is a spring fed, clear, no-wake lake perfect for lazy paddling, swimming, and fishing. We had a campsite on the lake with the access to launch our kayaks and swim. The site was large, flat, and sandy. The campground was barely 30-40% full when we arrived on a Tuesday. The nearest water pump is located on the street in front of campsite #18. The pit toilets are across the road. All of the campsites are on the lakeside of the road with rustic stairs or paths to the lake. In the morning, we awoke to the sound of loons. At night, we heard a cacophony of coyotes, owls, maybe an elk, and the haunting sounds of fox. Have you ever heard the eerie sounds of fox? Google it. Gaylord and Grayling are close enough to get to if you REALLY need somethi

Thus far this is my favorite place to camp. There are 30 campsites and it only costs $20 per night. You do need a park pass. There is access to the lake near all of the campsites as well as a boat launch at the beach. The lake is great for fishing. I've seen bass, trout and pan fish caught. The water is ridiculously clear. 10 out 10 would recommend for a family rustic camping trip.

Friday night. End of September. Stayed in site #13. It was large, flat, and has all the basics. It even had a cute stairway leading straight down to the lake. Very peaceful. There were only 4 other sites occupied. Vault toilets are spaced roughly every 6-7 campsites across the path. What a hidden gem. I plan to return.

The campsites are far enough apart to allow some privacy. Sites are too small for the very large RVs. Outhouses were quite clean and regularly stocked. We saw bald eagles and heard loons. Lake does not have a lot of room for shore fishing except near the boat launch.
