River Country Motor Lodge

We had a family emergency and a bad weather situation that led us to need to stay the night near the hospital. I checked the AARP app and found this wonderful place. The owner is incredibly kind. The room is cozy and SUPER CLEAN! The decor is perfect. Amenities were also perfect. Lots of towels ❤️❤️❤️ I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone needing a quiet, comfortable place to rest.

We travel on a motorcycle and try to stay and eat at local owned businesses. This was our first time at River Country and we’ll definitely put it on our list of places to stay. |The room was clean, hot water, and good bed. |They have been updating the rooms and ours had a new toilet as the first step before they completely redo the entire room. |The attached pictures are of a completed room (they had completed two).|We’ve stayed in a lot of local motels and this was one of the better experiences. |Was very reasonably priced compared to a cheap motel in Houghton Lake was 50% more.|The review rating is compared to other local motels.

The room was clean but dated. The beds were rather uncomfortable, we all woke up with sore backs. The pillows had about the same firmness as a pillow you get while flying coach. They do allow pets!

Every single thing here is very nice . Peaceful, Clean , The owners welcome us every time with great hospitality and helpful insight. LEFT RAMADA GRAYLING TO COME HERE . If your In search of something affordable and safe and clean this place is a must I’m staying here as long as I stay in town

My fiancé and I LOVE this place! He’s at the army base two weeks every year and when I come up to visit we stay here for the last 3 years! The owners Samantha and Darin are amazing and so accommodating. The rooms are clean, neat, and updated. They have kitchenettes with mini fridge microwave and coffee. They are even pet friendly. Outside they have a bonfire pit, BBQ’s and horseshoes! We have so much fun here…maybe too much fun :P it’s right across from the airfield so you can watch the helicopters come and go. It’s very close to the downtown bars, restaurants, and shopping. We highly recommend!
