Shasta Pines Motel & Suites

Pleasantly surprised. I expected dismal in Burney, CA but this is the place to stay!. There are two sections. The first section was older motel style. The other section where we stayed was clearly newer with suites. Our suite was very large and well maintained. Everything worked. It was clean and smelled fresh. We had a working refrigerator and a microwave. A sofa bed in the living room but no coffee table, chair, etc. That would have been a nice addition to the space. Front desk check in was pleasant. Price was amazingly affordable. Burney is hardly the hopping town but, if you find yourself there, choose the Shasta Pines. And a suite!

It is fun to leave the chain hotels behind and find a motel that is a blast from the past. What I appreciated in our 3 day stay this week was the touches that made the room bright. Obvious care was taken to install lights in wall sconces that illuminated the room well and plugs for all our devices close at hand (hotel chains take note!). This is not a fancy place but the fresh paint throughout made it clear that the owners take care of it with pride.

Cozy, but busy. There was a couple of suspect looking people when I originally arrived. Didn't see them again. The restroom was a little dated. The room was large and comfortable. The service from the front desk was fabulous. Super helpful. It would've been nice to have an iron and ironing board.

Not a bad option if you are planning for Lassen Volcanic NP last minute. It's a basic motel that's just enough to sleep overnight. But location is quite convenient. There's a restaurant just adjacent to the motel and there's Safeway and gas station nearby. Felt safe when there are stores around you. Although avoid roaming around after dark

I never write reviews but, this is a great spot in Burney! Stayed here while visiting my partner during their multiple “zero days” while on the PCT. The staff was always very attentive and would make sure we had everything we needed promptly and with care. They can also help you with “trail hitches” or pick-ups/drop-offs. While taking to my pick-up driver, I was surprised to learn he was the owner Alex. The notably great stay made more and more sense while we talked about his enthusiasm for serving the people who enjoy our beautiful outdoor spaces. Don’t hesitate to stay here!
