Seven Oaks Recreation

Great ski destination in central Iowa! My kids loved learning to ski here- there’s enough variety and challenge to keep occupied and engaged all day! The lodge is great for hanging out and warming up. They have outdoor seating with heaters if you want to stay outside. The free mini lesson they do each 1/2 hour was great to build my kids’ confidence. The loved practicing turning and stopping on the small tow-rope hill before we rode one of the two lifts up to try out the green difficult hill. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful There’s a couple of hills with jumps and obstacles for the advanced winter sports enthusiast. What a fun place to snow tube! We spent an afternoon at Seven Oaks recently and will definitely be back in future winters. The staff were friendly and explained the rules well, there was good signage, and the facilities were well kept. We really loved the food we ate too- popcorn chicken and beef nachos!

We had such a great experience at Seven Oaks! Our family went snow tubing and had an absolute blast. It was surprisingly affordable for how much fun we had, and the whole atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming. What stood out the most was the staff — every single person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. That kind of energy makes such a difference. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to other families looking for a fun winter adventure!

Great local ski resort! Being from Texas - we appreciate the low crowds for easy learning. The price is right as well for families that only ski once a year at most. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone wanting a great ski experience.

Love this place, it was a great place for my first time skiing. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Sad winter season is almost over, but will definitely come back next season.
