Second Wind Country Inn

We spent a couple of days in the Bear Den in early February. What a great place. The room was cozy, but very comfortable. The weather had warmed up so we enjoyed snowshoeing in the area. Kelly and Mark were very welcoming and the place was a wonderful place to relax after a full day of activity. We'll definitely go back when in the area.

I spent 3 nights at Second Wind Country in. We stayed in the Little Scandinavia farm house. We had the top floor apartment in the farmhouse which was perfect for two of us. Kelly & Mark have gone to great efforts to create a delightful and homely place to stay with lots of personal, and Scandinavian touches. We loved sitting on terrace outside at the end of a busy day exploring. The kitchen was well equipped for catering for ourselves and the home cooked breakfast prepared by Kelly was simply delicious. It was a great base to explore the local area and we drove to Bayfield to explore the islands in Lake Superior from there with ease. The farmhouse is so peaceful and quiet. It was a wonderful rest in the countryside. I’d definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

This was a perfect location for us for a somewhat last minute get-away. We stayed in the Lumberjack Loft, which was more than spacious for the 2 of us. Beautiful scenery from the big windows, and comfortable living space. It was a half hour ride to Bayfield to catch the ferry to Madeline Island to hike, and a half hour the next day to reach Copper Falls. We took advantage of the Autumn Ambiance special and stayed 3 nights and had breakfast and dessert delivered to our room. Truly delicious.

Kelly and Mark were very welcoming and they made us feel like family. Will definitely be back for another visit. We got to pet the burrows (donkeys) and pet the horses.

Kelly and Mark are excellent and inviting hosts! Stayed for 4 nights, room as very clean, A/C worked, plenty of warm water for showers, not far from ashland. Great place to stay to see alot of Lake Superiors stuff. Will stay again.
