Seashell Motel

I tried to reserve the Key West Hostel. No go. So I ended up booking a room for 300. Well, once I got there, I learned that the Key West Hostel that was part of the Seashell Motel has become a thing of the past; the new management is renovating the hostel dorms into multi-grand a night luxury suites. Whoever has done away with the hostel and whoever kept complaining about it having been a hostel needs to take their livelihoods to San Francisco.

Positive: The room itself was great! Very large and the shower was amazing! I was very surprised. Negative: This is not the hotel's fault but my neighbors on Sunday night was not pleasant and decided to brawl at 2 am in the morning. Thank goodness I was able to call the front office to let them handle it.

Curb appeal needs help, BUT they are currently renovating. We stayed in room 12 and it was very nicely done! Clean and cute! Staff were very friendly. No complaints, just a suggestion: could have used a full length mirror in our room and a small table with a chair. You need a place to sit sometimes other than the bed. I would stay again though :-)

Not worth the money at all! We paid over $600 for one night. We went out for dinner and came back to our room being covered in termites. They were crawing all over us while we slept. They were swarming outside, which wouldn't have been a problem if we actually had protection from the outdoors in this tiny room....but we didn't have that because everything was open to the outdoors. We asked for a partial refund, they said no because "termites are normal this time of year" ....NOT in a room we paid over $600 for. The HUGE gap under the door made it more like camping (see attached photos). Also the rooms are very tiny. We went to a different motel for $130/nights and guess what....No "normal termites" crawling in my freakin shorts while I try to sleep. I've lived in Florida my whole life an

Stayed one night. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. They allowed for early check-in and held luggage on checkout day until it was time to depart Key West. The room was clean, neat, and well equipped. n”MINI split AC unit, good sized TV, free WIFI, and a spacious bathroom with excellent water pressure. They were excellent hosts and went out of the way to ensure every need was meet. I would stay here again and highly recommend you do as well. Reasonable priced for Key West. Great location, close to everything.
