Sandy Point Lodge & Resort

Stayed here overnight for a guys spearfishing trip and had an amazing experience. Our 4 wheeler wouldn't start because it was -20 out so the owner towed our fish house out with his side by side and put us right on the fish -we got 3 35+ inch northerns. They let us upgrade from hotel room to cabin day of, which was great to have a fireplace! Dinner was great and fairly priced with good selection of beer and alcohol. They also had breakfast set up and ready to go for us in the morning. This felt more like staying with friends than getting a hotel room. We will make this an annual tradition in the coming years!

Nice family run lodge. Not much in the area and we are always trying to fit in as much as possible. That they had a room with a restaurant attached was a plus. Had a ln egg breakfast one night and smoothie the other. Both were good. I’ve had more rural stays that don’t offer a reliable internet connection so appreciated they did. It rained hard in the morning on the first day so was nice to be able to catch a few episodes on Netflix as we waited for the weather to clear up. Mosquitoes were apparently not as bad in 2025 compared to previous years. They do have a fly swatter in the room and you should expect to manage bugs though. I hate them but t’s just part of the area unfortunately. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to explore the area.

We went to the resort to go ice fishing for the day. This family owned experience left us with wonderful memories in a winter wonderland ! Everyone was very kind, warm and helpful, making our trip unique ! Thank you very much and we will come back

My husband and I had an amazing stay at Sandy Point Lodge, all due to the wonderful family who owns it. We got great tips on fishing right from the property, and had an amazing day on the lake with morning guided fishing, drop off to explore the Ellsworth Rock Gardens and to take a beautiful hike at Locator Lake, and a bonus tour of some coves around the lake. They cleaned and prepared our fish for dinner and the meal was amazing! This stay was the highlight of our Voyageurs NP trip and we thank Al, Tanner and Brooke for their hospitality!

We arrived at our cabin and the first thing we saw was the beach, cluttered with toys and wooden boards. My first thought was getting a nail stuck in my foot. The dock was twisted and broken. We unpacked our belongings into our cabin and I went to wash my hands. When I turned the hot water on, I immediately smelt a rotten egg smell, which is from the water heater because I work on them. My mom wanted to connect to WiFi and went to the office to ask for the password. The boy working there gave her a password to use. It didn’t work, and after several attempts, he finally gave her the correct password. She said thank you, but before she left he was smart with her and tried to make her feel stupid for not knowing the password. I went to dry out a glass in the sink and filled it with water. I w
