Idlewild Resort

Am amazing family vacation! Rented a pontoon which was conveniently docked right at the bottom of the hill. Beautiful nature during the day and infinite stars in the night sky. The resort is family owned and that is way nicer than big operations always looking for ways to get more money from people staying. We'll definitely be back.

This was our first time visiting Voyageurs National Park and staying at Idlewild Resort. We were very happy with our stay in Cabin #1. We were there during early July, 2025. The resort is welcoming, clean and has a great location on the water. There were a few single kayaks, a tandem kayak and two paddle boards for use for the guest on a first come first serve basis. The dock area was nice to sit down by the water and enjoy the sunsets. There is a fire ring, and several chairs to sit around the fire. There were too many bugs for us to enjoy the nighttime down there, but other times of the year would be great. There were fans in the cabins to stay cool. We had the best vacation at Idlewild Resort. We have been to many resorts in the past years and I would say this has been the BEST place hands down! The owners are very friendly, always saying hello, stop to chat and very helpful for fishing spots or place to sight see. Fishing was great!! It has been newly renovated, very clean, kitchen has all the basic stuff you would need. The pool & hot tub was clean and relaxing. Kids loved the pool with slide. My family and I reserved a boat last minute. We had excellent customer service. We have 3 little kids, and he gave us great recommendations for their ages. Definitely recommend this business! Great people.

We had such a a great time at Idlewild! Amazing hospitality and good humans. Really chill atmosphere and awesome views. The pool and hot tub was a wonderful amenity for groups with young kids. Had something for everyone. Can't wait to go back!
