Northern Lights Resort & Outfitting on Lake Kabetogama

My husband and I had a great stay in the Eagles Nest Cabin! The location was perfectly situated for our trip to Voyaguers National Park, being only a few minutes away from the Kabetogama Visitors Center and close to Ash Visitors Center and the trails there. Our cabin suited us perfectly and met our needs. We rented a boat so we could hike the back country trails and do some fishing. The staff were super friendly, accommodating and helpful with recommending good fishing spots or listening to your fish tales! The resort is also away from other resorts in a quiet area, so if you're like us and want to get away from the crowds this is the place for you!

My husband and I stayed in the Eagles Nest. It was great for us, super functional for everything we needed! The staff were great, always being able to help with the boat, or recommend places to fish, or have a great chat! Check in was super easy as was check out. We enjoy "getting away" and the resort is quiet with not many other cabins to have a peaceful stay. With the lake facing the north, you can have spectacular views of these auroras as well! An affordable and comfy option for Voyaguers National Park stay, or fishing trip to Lake Kab!

I used Northern Lights for a multi-day canoe rental when camping. I didn't see the cabin interiors but they looked well kept from the driveway. My car was safely parked there during my camping trip. The staff was easy to book with a few months ahead of my trip via phone. The canoe rental pricing was competitive compared to other locations I saw. Their wood bundles cost a bit more than normal Indiana prices, but they're large bundles. Two bundles cost $20 ($10 a pop) and lasted for 6-7 hours of fire today. Most importantly, in the departure prep, they ensured I understood that if anything went wrong - that i could give them a call and they'd come to our campsite to assist as needed. I’m sad to report that I can’t recommend this resort. We have vacationed at this resort for 7 years. For the last 2 years, the number of employees has been reduced to a third of what it once was. This year, during a storm, a pontoon boat belonging to the resort broke the ropes tying it to the dock and slammed into our boat causing major damage. The resort said their insurance didn’t cover the damages, and they didn’t offer any compensation when asked for it. I expected a certain amount of loyalty from them. Guess it all boils down to money. Do Not Bring Your Own Boat There!

Amazing service! This place is truly a fantastic resort on the lake. I didn't stay at a cabin but they were able to accommodate a last minute multi-day boat rental after my previously booked boat had a broken prop the day before. Great location and everyone was helpful and kind; which can't be said for all businesses on the lake. And the property is so cute! Can't recommend this place enough.
