Sandy Beach Campground

So we got here on a Thursday afternoon and upon arriving, the gate was open, little guard shack was closed and there were no signs directing us elsewhere. So we set up camp, nice lake, actually sandy beaches for 150yrds. Beautiful place. We stayed the night, cooked breakfast, went swimming. Then we had to go into town and get more ice. When we got back, I noticed there was a car by the guard shack so we stopped to talk to whoever was inside. I told her we had arrived the day before and were planning on staying 1 more night. She was VERY rude. Started spewing something about private property and how we need permits and we should've gone to the marina or something to buy them? Anyway she was rude over 2 days of camping permits, which was $20. Even after I told her we had been there the night

Great place to relax. Unfortunately there is very little water left in the lake. No skiing or tubing, but I hear the fishing is still good. I sure do miss the days gone by when there was plenty of water.

Water is super low lots of flies and stickers. Very peaceful during the week. Impossible to know how to pay there was nobody at kiosk or pay tube.
