Sands Motel

I’ve been meaning to post about this place for a while. I stayed here from December to October due to my job which I work on the wind farm. Let me tell you I wouldn’t have chose a better place to be! Heath and his wife are phenomenal people. Nicest people I know and constantly renovating their rooms to perfectly accommodate their guests. When I was sick or hurting they would help me tremendously when I had no food they would feed me and much more. Rooms were cleaned everyday and because of them this hotel has been my favorite stay great ppl with a home feel! I appreciate you two so much thank you for everything!!

My wife and I stayed for a night in the Sands Motel while on vacation in southeastern New Mexico in August 2018. Vaughn, New Mexico is the only town for miles around and is a good stopping point for the weary and budget minded traveler on the way to other parts of the state. We pulled off US Highway 285 and into the safety of the motel just as one of New Mexico's classic monsoon season thunderstorms (along with heavy rain and gusty winds) was rolling in. The couple that owned the motel were very pleasant and attentive. There is a little awning to park under while checking into the front office and then you can pull right up to your room. Stayed for a month and felt right at home. The owners are accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and have great amenities. There are even propane grills conveniently located near the patio area.

Listen, it's not the best but look at where we are folks. People do their best. Put on some ear plugs and count your sheep to sleep.

A quaint little motel in the middle of nowhere. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and the owner’s are very accommodating. Whether you need to stay for a night, or want to rent for the week the price is very reasonable. I needed a room for a week to get situated, until I could find a permanent place for my work a little closer to my work site.
