You don't want to rent here. I've waited a year and a half for answers on WiFi, shouldn't be a big deal you think, but no one can resolve it. I was offered a $50 rent reduction for 6 months due to the headache, but since I didn't get it in writing, it's not being honored since they changed management at the same time the offer was made. I was promised to move to an exterior unit if I got documentation, which I did. I was told my rent wouldn't increase since it was a medical request, now they want to charge market value, again not in writing and was promised as they changed management. They're charging policy without any notifications. $1075 for a room with no AC or kitchen. So because I trusted the management, I pay the price!!! I'm done!! In addition you deal with roaches and bed bugs. Yo

This place is a dump. Roaches everywhere. They don’t tell you not to bring things you care about into the rooms. The roaches breed in every tiny nook & cranny. I didn’t have hundreds of roaches in my room, but thousands. At least no bed begs like other tenants. I just got a bill for $550 for a janitorial company to clean it. I always leave places immaculate when I move. It’s BS. Now I live in my car and put my things in storage. Hoping the roaches that tagged along will die of thirst and starvation.

These photos clearly show this is a beautifully restored, historic 100 year old hotel ! Small, cozy rooms with own bathroom. Sunny, clean, priceright for downtown. Run by the Housing Commission for low income Senior disabled with elder help onsite. Laundry room, balcony, kitchen, dining area, library and a deli in front with the oldest barber college in San Diego next door 1st floor! A room with a view, though not every room has one !

I've lived here for over 2 1/2 yrs now and the management is becoming increasingly draconian - almost impossible to reveive a guest or even family visitor due to horrific security guards, washers & dryers often broken & inoperable, 2 antique elevators both of which break down regularly, no rent control (rents keep rising) no wifi & no internet on cable. No way to individually (i.e. room to room) upgrade cable to include pay channels or internet. No heating or air conditioning, no view (my 4th floor window just looks right at another window 3' away looking right into my unit!), no music or loud TV past 9:00pm, OLD building (built 1913ad or so) and the very worst part: EXTREMELY Nosey Neighbors allow absolutely NO PRIVACY whatsoever - 24/7. One of the very worst places I've EVER lived ...

Seems kinda pricey for a small, 1-room SRO, no view, no wifi, they've been working on the plumbing on this 100+yr old bldg for months now -- regularly shutting down the water all day long -- and are slated to continue most of this year. Lastly, it's evidently a Seniors facility so socially it often feels like a freakin' mausoleum.
