An amazing free camping spot just off the I five down by the lake. Plenty of campsite and a flat parking area. If you are camping in a van, there is a train that goes overhead a couple of times during the night but honestly, I found the sound to be quite magical. Don’t be no registrations during the off-season.
Right price. Not much to do. I had the only level spot in the whole place. Quiet until the train goes by at all hours. 8 or 9 trains in 4 days so not terrible.
A good swim spot for strong ocean swimmers not sure kids would be safe as the water is very deep and shore is steep
If you love trains and camping well look no further, Salt Creek Dispersed Campground is the one for you. It has great spots, you meet very interesting people and it was a relaxing place to stay for the week we stayed.
Nice place to dry Camp. The train that came thru about 3-4 times a day was awesome to listen and watch. ATV in the area like to play late into the evenings for a bit of obtrusive noises but settled down around 9-10 pm.
