Camped over the weekend with family. It was great! Super hot during the day and the water is warm so we wouldn't go again in the middle of summer but that isn't the campgrounds fault at all. When looking for reviews we couldn't really find many pictures of the campsites themselves so I made sure to take some. Within the first couple hours of being there we saw a bear, a snake, and deer swim across the water which was cool.

Very very nice , has bbqs, picnic tables, shaded areas , very beautiful all over , on our time there, we did not camp only came to fish, so we didn't have to pay for parking, we saw a baby Fawn, like 10 different color type size butterflies, omgosh a SNAKE!¡ but it was fine it just slithering under my husband chair lol wasn't a Rattlesnake, it was light brown with some darker shade brown but not dark color , more light color, I didn't get in the water but my husband did and there is a drop off lol he had a hard time getting back up lol from the soggy dirt under water like suction cups lol it was funny watching him lol we had a very quiet time fishing, didn't catch anything, but who cares we still had a great time outdoors and this place is beautiful, will be going again, thought the

Really great place! Ended up camping here after 5 hours of being lost. A bit of a walk to the water but still a great place!

Beautiful campground. Close to the lake shore when lake levels are within 20 feet of full pool. Good during early season when the weather hasn't gotten too hot, and the campground hasn't gotten too busy. First come first serve... weekends fill up early. Campground maintenance is lacking by Shasta Recreation Co... bear boxes were full of trash and unusable... other trash cans were overflowing... self pay envelopes were soaking wet and unusable. The supervising National Forest Service ranger station was notified of the situation, but they seemed not to care. With the prices of campground camping getting pricey, you sure don't get what you pay for anymore.

One of the best if not the day use areas around.
