Runaway Beach Club

We had 4 adults in our party and we stayed at this resort for 1 week. My husband and I were still celebrating our 3rd year Anniversary. We wanted to be close to Disney. Our first night stay was a rough one. My cousin woke up with back pain. My husband and I woke up to a dead bedbug. We were so upset, we asked to be moved to another room. They apologized, offered to clean our clothes for free and moved us immediately. No bedbugs found in the new room but the beds sucked. We couldn't sleep because the beds were so uncomfortable. Woke up with back pain. This place is dated and it is in need of a serious upgrade. No restaurants on the property. Plenty of restaurants 5 to 10 mins away. We made the best out of this trip but we will not return. We were not impressed!!!

Let me preface this review by saying we did not originally book this resort. We had a reservation through Airbnb for another resort and they cancelled very last minute (on the drive down from NJ). We were panicked and finally found something that met our needs and would accommodate our last minute reservation. |The rental office was very nice and helpful. They even gave us a free iron to use for our length of our stay. |The unit was a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. There were 2 sofa beds in the living area. Enough towels for 6 people which we laundered daily. There was an option for a midweek cleaning but we didn’t purchase that as we weren’t in the condo a ton. |The drive to WDW wasn’t awful, maybe 15 minutes with minimal traffic going and a bit heavier coming back. Very well maintained, buildings are freshly painted and look nice. Rooms are better than you would expect for a three-star, furniture is a bit worn as expected. I would return.

Very nice location. Pools and spa are included with your stay, they are very clean. Access to them is from 9am to 10pm. The apartment we used was in excellent state and had everything you would need. Hot water and a/c worked flawlessly.

Myra at the front desk was so friendly and helpful when we checked in. We were comparing where to use our points and I have to say the check-in experience alone at Calypso Cay plus the rooms, amenities and pools make it the place we enjoy the most.
