Royal Shooks Motel

Royal Shooks Motel is a great choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged, providing all the essentials needed for a relaxing visit. First off let’s agree we fisherpeople need to stay here from time to time to fish red lake. That being said it’s to bad this establishment takes advantage of this. |The place IS inexpensive and it shows. The beds are very hard. It’s all very antiquated. I firmly believe our beds did not have clean sheets. There were hairs in both beds. The walls are paper thin. The woman who runs the place is very unpleasant and unhelpful if you have a question. She doesn’t want to be bothered. |Unfortunately there are not many choices of places to stay when we are in this in between time of fishing. If you can I recommend you find a difference place to stay.

Room was decent. TV service cut out after an hour. Outside lights didn't work. Probably a fuse issue. Location was good as it's the closest motel to Kelliher. Quiet was nice. Didn't need any service. Only stayed one night. The price of $90+ was a little high for that stop, fridge was off when we got there and a small list of "To-Do" before leaving. Rate at 3 stars.

Stayed in room #2. There was an old Tupperware container with holes in the room with a note taped to it that said, "tips are appreciated." Well, I've got some tips for the owner. 1-replace the filthy, stained lampshades & window blind. 2-get a basic, small fridge in the room. 3-put a real shower head in, and get a real shower mat (the shower mat was PAPER). 4-replace the beds- I had to share the bed with my son & we felt as if it might collapse. Oh yeah, try some new sheets maybe too.? 5-fix the outside lights, loading up gear in the dark challenging. Not sure what can be done about the paper thin walls. We could hear snoring & conversations easily from the room next door. We were told the room had 2 double beds, and a pull out sofa sleeper, but when we checked in there was no pullout sofa

Only thing was no WIFI so just used our Hotspot no biggie and walls a little thin but no different then other places. Rooms were clean and roomier and cable TV , with coffee pots, microwaves and refrigerator some rooms have stove tops/ovens. Sheets AND Bedding were clean and free of specimens you seem to find at other places like casinos and larger chain motels. All in all slept great Def will stay here again and highly recommend.
