Royal Inn

This place gives a whole new meaning to Roach Motel... a literal Dive Motel. Its tucked back in the corner behind a gas station. Cant be seen from the highway. The entire room was very unclean. Toilet wasn't cleaned, tub wasn't cleaned, dead roaches in the floor, freezer was caked in a sticky goo and smelled bad. Blankets had several cigarette burns. We were in a bind and this was the only room available with electricity after hurricane so we stayed but we were uncomfortable the entire night. No phone in the room, no clock, no table. Drawers had been removed from the desk and night stand. Smoke detector had a walmart bag wrapped around it. Even the light switches were dirty. We were looking for a reasonable place to stay one night. Well, I am sorry I didn't stay at the hotel next door. It would have cost more, but I am sure it was well worth it. ||||First, check in was okay, except the computers were down. We were given a room on the second floor. While climbing the stairs you walk right up to the garbage can which was overflowing with trash. Got into the room and OMG even though it looks like they are updating their hotel - this room was not on the list. We double checked the beds for any critters and found small black particles on the mattress - not sure what that was. As for the bathroom - it had an awful odor - did not bother to even take a shower. ||||Check out wasn't so good, even the lady ahead of us was not happy. The clerk didn't

Room 165 smells like mildew and weed I will not be staying here again

I would not ever recommend this hotel to anyone. We got to the hotel and had to take the bedding off the bed because there was big black spots on the bed and grass. The bathroom had been used and the toilet wasn't flushed. The room smelt like sewage and was almost unbearable. The pool was advertised as open and when we arrived it was closed and was disgusting. My son was playing with his racetrack got up out of the floor and was covered in black stuff. There were people constantly yelling outside if the room at all hours of the night. We asked 3 times for rags and towels for the room and we're told they didn't have any clean ones right now. It didn't feel safe at all at the location.

I don't understand how they can let some of the rooms get like they do when people stay Long -term. They should do a couple room inspections a week or something so they can see if the rooms are atleast half decent. After seeing the nastiness I seen I don't think I'll go there again.
