Rodeway Inn Williamsburg Historic Area

Not a bad place for the price. Rooms are dated but clean overall, thought the wine bottle opener inside bathroom true to the age of the place. Old and well used but bed was firm and comfy. T.v. was a bit small for distance between bed and TV stand. Room was cold but the had a space heater inside that made it quit comfortable. Bathroom light was a timer switch. For those needing breakfast just know 8am is serve time. I didnt have time to partake due to early leave needs. So just be aware. It was nice that they dont do incidental holds.

I stayed here recently while in town for a concert down in Hampton. This was a perfectly acceptable place to stay in a high-demand area that seems to have a lot of issues with hotel quality for more budget-friendly hotels. The price point was excellent for my visit, mid-November Fri/Sat for roughly $80 a night all-in. My room was very decent, with no signs of any insects anywhere, clean sheets and towels, and a window-installed air conditioning unit that was effective. The bathroom was also clean, stocked with standard soap/toiletries, and the shower had warm water with good pressure. Arrived after 7 pm, dark, given an electric space heater and told window unit heater not performing well. ALSO told not to use space heater without turning off window unit due to likely circuit breaker falure. Additionally told to leave bathroom door closed, implying bathroom was chilly, which was true. Also roach seen in bathroom, along with dripping faucets and peeling ceiling. It was cold outside, temp in low 40's to upper 20's but NOT BITTER COLD. Finally told owner/ manager was out of the country, and due to high census of tourists that night left without option to find another room. Positive: This hotel is an inexpensive option with decent location ($10 uber ride) to William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. There is a very good restaurant near (2nd St. Bistro) and a pancake house next door. The staff was very nice. Negative: The rooms are very dated, with chipped paint, faded rugs, mirrors that have that haze to them, broken ironing board, old ACs, musty smell. A few characters hanging around the premises. Indications that some guests live there.

This place was very quaint like staying at your grandparents house. Our room was clean. The breakfast was simple. The breakfast offered was a cold breakfast offering cereal, coffee, juice and muffins. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room. We would stay again. It’s simple and functional.
