Rodeway Inn New Braunfels - San Antonio Area

Rates are good. The building and the rooms could use an update. Room was clean but it is showing its age. Carpet was torn in a few spots. Top cover was stained. Housekeeping offered to replace, but another one wasnt needed. Decor was also showing its age. Desk was banged up and in need or replacement. Again, for what I paid for the room, it was ok.

The poor man at the counter was doing his best to put lipstick on a pig. We tried three rooms before asking for a refund. The first, wasn't clean and as we left to go back to the clerk the door wouldn't shut. The second, baby roaches in the sink. The third, smelled "chronically" bad. We ended up going to the Days Inn half a mile down I-35 and paid $4 more and had a beautiful, clean room for our 6-hour stay.

This place tries to scam you for extra charges!I booked a room here thru Trip.com. I had to prepay for the room at the time of booking, but the stay was next day, so no big deal. When I checked in at the front desk, I was told by the clerk that my credit card I put the room on had been declined, which didn't make sense, because Trip.com had emailed me a confirmation letter when I paid for the room. The last 4 #s of the card the clerk read back to me weren't even my card! He wouldn't let me check in unless I gave him a "valid" card. I didn't have much choice at 1am. Once in my room, I called my credit card company, & I had been charged by Trip.com & the hotel. I called the front desk, telling the clerk my card hadn't been declined, it was charged, now twice for the room. He refused to rever

Hotel was ill kept and dirty. Numerous roaches in room. Linen was and we would not sleep in one bed because the duvet was filthy. Guests were loud until the early morning hours. Tile floors obviously had not been mopped and carpet was stained. Makes me wonder why I ever was a Choice Rewards member.

It's dirty, the blankets are dirty, the chairs, the walls, everything is dirty. The doors don't close properly, there are gaps, and drafts come in from the street. Cockroaches are crawling around, and there's no hot water. They don't give refunds. Stay away from this place.
