Rocky Knob Campground

I arrived at 4:30 pm weekday during early October surprised to find a mostly empty campground. I spoke with a volunteer who said there have been less people than normal. I took a lovely stroll around the whole campground. loop A is mostly for tents and loop T is for campers. Two of the loops are still closed due since hurricane Helene last year. They look in really good shape now, except for really tall grass. Some pretty cool sites. Very quiet. Peaceful. A variety of sites. Like all campgrounds some sites are better than others depending on your likes. Clean bathroom with flush toilets. There were lots of available first come first served sites for $30. If you arrive late, just use the self pay envelope. Close to Floyd for tourism, coffee 😄, and gas.

Pretty good national campground. Bathrooms are very clean. Hosts are super nice. Campsites are very close together but that has been my experience at other national campgrounds. Stayed at T13. The picnic bench and fire pit are behind the site about 25 ft away from the RV pad.
